MEANTIME

Meantime is a small, exploratory study born from a simple question: what changes the moment someone knows they’re being photographed? As a photographer, I’m fascinated by the subtle shift—more than just posture or expression—that occurs when intention enters the frame. The series began with portraits of friends. While chatting and testing light, I quietly took black and white images before announcing that I was ready to shoot. Then came the "official" portraits—this time in colour. Side by side, these before-and-after moments reveal something intriguing: a quiet duality in how we present ourselves, knowingly and unknowingly. Meantime examines that liminal space between the candid and the performed—the brief, unguarded pause before we become our photographed selves.
