On our way back from Europe, I had a call from Esquire Magazine in Russia while waiting to depart from Rome airport. I have been a fan of Esquire magazine for many years and especially admire the way the Russian edition champions photographers every month. Their cover images are the best in my opinion. Although I never made it to Russia (it's not as easy to travel to Russia as you would think) I was very happy to be asked to feature in the Russian edition. With a very hairy Joaquin Phoenix on the cover that month, I can't read the cyrillic script, but it was lovely to see my images with the beautiful text overlaid.
